08 chevy hhr alarm

So my brother in law bought an 08 HHR and I'm installing his stereo and alarm system for him. It's been a while since I've installed an alarm and some things are a bit different. We bought a Viper 5901, and a CANMAX400DEI bypass module. I've been reading over the instructions and they aren't very clear on what I don't need to use on the alarm as far as wiring. All I seem to be able to gather is that I don't need to use the 12pin wiring harness, in one part it says I don't need the 4 pin but in another part it says I do? The rest of the wiring harnesses appear to be for remote start and door locks. I know the bypass module takes care of door locks and windows and what not but what about remote start? I know there was an optional remote start on the HHR but he doesn't have it. So do I need to run remote start wires? If so I'm guessing I need some diodes, resistors and a relay or 2. Any help is much appreciated! I've been trying to get everything straight before I start the install on the alarm.

Someone gave me the Directed installer wiring guide for the 08 HHR so I think I have everything I need now!
