well where to start. past 2 days been installing this viper remote start and been having problems. horn honks thats about it

Heres a good starting place, it helped me out quite a bit. instructions for a trailblazer but GM wiring is similar on all trucks

Sounds like you need to take it to a pro. We can't help you with such limited info you provided us.
When you remote start it, does it actually light up the dash, or does it give you clicking sounds?
When remote started does a lock on the dash appear? Does it even crank?
Are you locks working? Is your GWR wire connected from the remote start?

This is the wiring I used on my suburban, it took me a total of 4 hours from open door to finished first time install I have the python 872 which is basically the same unit marketed under a different name.

I used D2D connector you might have to go W2W with a 2001

Just remember that you need to program the alarm before it will work correctly. I forgot to do the programing and car wouldn't start until I got help on here and programed the alarm from manual transmission mode.

far as paying 400. bones for this u would think they would put in relays for the doorlocks.
