I just purchased a new Viper 5901 and the IOM-Chrysler-7 bypass and after looking over both the Viper install guide and the bypass install I am very confused.
These install doc's contradict one another. One doc says that using the Chrysler-7 bypass takes care of the second starter wire and that I don't need to do the DirectFax doc 1084 with the relays and all but then the other install doc says I need to relay it with a 610 and 180 ohm resistors.....
Could somebody please clarify the install using this IOM Chrysler-7
a wiring diagram specific to these two would be even better.

I've never used a chrysler 7 but if it mentions MUX in the wiring instructions dont worry about the Directfax info. If it doesnt grab yourself a PKUMUX or a CHALL and you can definitely ignore the directfax

gotcha..... I appreciate the reply.
According to several I talked to on the Dodge Forum prior to buying anything they said the Chrysler 7 saved a bunch of wiring and stuff but these wiring instructions that came with it are truly a joke...
Very confusing.

Is there any chance somebody could help me with the IOM Chrysler 7 and a Viper 5901 going on a 2006 Dodge Ram.....
Specifically wiring the two together....   The DEI Doc's I have say I don't need to do the DirectFax 1084 with this bypass
Posts I've found on this website say I do...... Very confusing to say the least.

Here's the IOM Chrysler 7 wires:
Green            - ground when running input    ???
Brown            - Lock input    I think I know
Blue             - unlock input I think I know
PURPLE / White     - Door sense output            ???
Purple             Can Bus Data Output          To WHITE/ Orange
Pink/White        Multiplex start output       To PURPLE / Brn
Pink             + Start Input   ???
BROWN / White      - Trunk Trigger (Not needed)
Red              + Battery       DONE
Black            - Ground        DONE
I am usually very good at this stuff however this one is really baffling me.... I can't risk or afford to damage my truck so I am asking for help....I greatly appreciate anyone who could help me...
I've just begun this install so I'm open to all input.

Green            - connect to status output of remote start

Brown            - connect to lock output of remote start/alarm
Blue             - connect to lock output of remote start/alarm
 PURPLE / White     - connect to  Door trigger input of alarm/rs
Purple             Can Bus Data Output          To WHITE/ Orange
Pink/White        Multiplex start output       To PURPLE / Brn
Pink             +  - connect to rs start output.

Ok new question....
Is there some kind of trick to programing this bypass to the truck...
I've followed the instructions that came with the bypass to the "T" close to 20 times now and time and time again it does not program.
I even followed the slightly different programing instructions in my Dodge Service Manual for adding additional keys and still nothing...
When I Remote start the truck, it starts and 3 seconds later it stalls with the security light flashing....
I'm assuming it is the bypass.

The last entry lists the steps required.   It looks the same as adding a new key, but in this case the "key" is the bypass unit.  Hope that helps.

To verify its a bypass problem, you could try a remote start with a working key held against the ignition lock cylinder.

I must say that programing the bypass module for this vehicle is tricky!, the last one I did I had to take apart the bypass module and take off the immobilizer ring and hold the corner of the bypass module in the ring just to get it programed!
