Not sure if you have the coupe or the sedan.  Also assuming it's not a Smartkey PTS.

Being as you listed Washington as your location, here is some info from iDatalink concerning a transponder :  http://12voltdata.com/viewtopic.php?f=282&t=4654

As for the wiring info, here is a link to DEI info for the sedan :  http://www.readyremote.com/main.asp?make=Hyundai&model=Genesis

They also list the coupe.

Soldering is fun!

That post was actually from 01/18/2011.  Did a 2011 Sonata GLS non-PTS, no transponder.  Canadian models have a transponder.  But here are some links to bypass modules.

Fortin :  https://ifar.ca/en/vehicles/hyundai/genesis/2011-coupe/

iDatalink :  http://www.idatalink.com/helpdesk/

DEI  :  http://www.xpresskit.com/VehicleCompatibility.aspx?p=null&year=2011&make=Hyundai&model=Genesis%20Coupe&ps=1&s=0

Haven't done a Genesis Coupe but there are a few ways to check.  Here is one way.

Look for a Yellow wire at Pin 24 in the Black 39 Pin connector ( EM-51 ) in the passenger Kick Panel.  If there is no Yellow wire there, you don't have a transponder.  For more detailed diagrams of the wire and it's location, download iDatalink Install Guide #5718 ( for the iDatalink ADS-AL CA bypass flashed with ADS-AL(TB)-HK2 firmware ) and review the Type 7 Wiring Diagram.

Hopefully, some of the forum members that regularly do Hyundai's can add their knowledge.

Oh boy does this confuse me, much more simple here, ALL cars registered after 01/01/97 in Europe had immobilisers.
