Newbie just bought a 550esp from a friend who had it sitting around for a while and never installed. I want to install it in my wifes 87 Saab 900. I know my way around cars pretty well but not that great with electronics. It didn't come with the installation instructions so I downloaded it from DEI's web site. After going over it completely I'm not sure I didn't bite off more than I can chew. Would you guys be nice enough to walk me through a few things if needed?

Also looking at the installation guide it appears there are some differences between what they show and what I have. The brain in the instructions are plugged by the wiring harness on 3 sides and has jumpers. Mine is only designed with the harnesses pluging intoone side and have no jumpers. Also there are a few little differences in the wire coloring. I assume I have an older model unit? I think I can work with the current instructions but Is there any way of getting the correct ones? Also is there a source to get the wiring diagram for the 87 Saab?   TIA

David:

Thanks for the information. They did make a 9000 with some years overlapping. Mine is a 900 and I would presume the wiring is probably pretty similar. I can try and piece everything together and see if I can get it to work. Appreciate the help.

Draasch, THANKS!!!! You da man. That should save me lots of time figuring out the car wiring. Now I can just tap the correct alarm wire to the car wire. Not sure what #204 actuator for the door locks though. Is that a relay? Also nor clear on what ignition  #2 is. Thanks again.
