Compustar cm 4200 no start

First thanks for getting back so quickly-- The hood switch is in right(and the hood is closed), It's an automatic and the loop is cut. I found the tach wire per the Compustar instructions but when i have the truck running and push the tach learn button nothing happens. The instructions said the tach wire when running would read 2-8 volts AC and it does. When I try to remote start nothing happens. I even tried leaving the key in the ignition to see if the DEI bypass was defective or hooked up wrong. The only idea that i have the yellow lead off the compustar feeds a relay. That relay has a yellow, a yellow/black, a purple, and a red. The instructions said nothing about these. Any ideas? Once again thanks in advance.

First off, did you program the remote control ? NExt if the 1WAMS did not give you a single flash back with the parking lights after pressing the tach learn button, you do not have the proper wire for the tach signal or you used the wrong wire on the harness.

 The tach wire is the YELLOW/BLACK wire and the tach wire on the truck is any injector or it's the WHITE wire at the ECM located near the battery, down low, between the fender and the fan under the black plastic cover. On the 4.3L, the tach wire is at pin 20 in the connector labeled red, and VSS wire is at pin 3 in the connector labeled black. On the 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L, the tach wire is located at pin 10 in the red connector, and VSS wire is located in pin 50 of the red connector.

The Yellow wire off the relay goes to the starter side of the cut starter wire ont he truck. The YELLOW/BLACK wire goes to the switch side of the cut starter wire. The PURPLE wire goes to the purple wire off the CN2 harness as this is your anti grind/ starter kill wire. If you did not hook up the yellow wire off the CN1 harness your truck will not start or even attempt to start.

To program the remote control you have to toggle the ignition switch to the ON postion and back to the OFF position 5 times within 5 seconds really fast. The parking lights will  flash back once and when it does, press the LOCK button on the remote control and if you are programming both remote's, press the lock button on the 2nd remote within 2 seconds of pressing the lock on the 1st remote. After about 5 seonds the lights will flash back at you to confirm the remote code was learned.

The tach program button will do this all the time regardless of if the vehicle is running or not. If you have the proper tach wire, the lights will flash back ONLY ONCE.
