I installed a r/s with keyless and trunk on a 04 pontiac grand am. Now the radio display is dead. The radio works fine but there is no display. Has anyone had this happen or is this just a really wierd coincidence.btw the radio was never dis connected from the car.  thanks.

what kind of bypass module did you use?  you could have flashed the Class II data line if it's a data module.....

Also,  the 04 pontiac grand am is known to have Display problems.  I have seen..... Just unplugging it causes the same problem.  We repair them often

I've actually seen GM radios(especially pontiacs) from 96-present have display issues. My moms was one of them.

I used a omega DB-PASS-23 hooked to the databus plug under the dash. Any chance this can be fixed?

display problems were common on pre-200 Pontiac radios that used a single lamp in the display... 2000-up radios have 3 separate AVR circuits with 3 separate lamps in the LCD display.... the chance of all 3 going out at the exact same time is pretty darn coincidental.....  as an AC Delco radio repair center we service lots of these units for partial display failure, but i dont think i've seen one yet where they all went out.....

That is how I have seen at least 4 in the past year...."coincidental"

We do MOPAR, FORD & Delco warranty...........GM is the all most as bad as Ford
I think GM has a Static Discharge Problem
