What is the best way to tap into a power wire under the dash where it connects with a harness?

splice and solder. DONT USE T-TAPS esspecially for high current applications

so just expose the wire and the solder from there?

what about T-taps on smaller wires, like the wire I will tap into to activate a window module for instance?
