Are you sure you are on the correct wire? Does the dome light turn on when you unlock the doors with the Avital remote?
DEI recommends going to each door seperate...
"To avoid the dome light delay and dome light time-out use the separate door triggers. In the drivers kick panel find yellow/black for the drivers door, lt. GREEN/ YELLOW for the drivers rear door, and WHITE/ purple for the rear hatch. In the passengers kick panel find gray/red for the passenger front door, and pink/lt. blue for the passengers rear door. All five wires are negative trigger and must be diode isolated together."
Keep us posted.

Are you just Lifting the Handle or actually opening the Door?

Did you Meter the wire first?
Be sure the VIOLET wire from Avital is hooked to the BLACK/ Blue on Vehicle

The vehicle horn or the siren? If it was the horn, was the factory alarm interfaced?

got rid of the honking with the factory remote. still have the problem with the doors not activating the alarm.. guess i will have to try the diode method =/ , can someone show me a schematic or something for diodes? i've never worked with them before. Do they have to go in a certain way?
