I am getting ready to install an aftermarket keyless entry on a  2005 Ford Taurus, that has electric locks but not keyless.

I need a wiring diagram for the underdash ( SJB  ,   GEM  and   Ignition switch plug ) for a 2005 Ford Taurus  3.0 v6 a/t ,also could use some pointers if anyone has done this install

I have an Autoivox AA-925 kit  and  want to be able to lock/unlock the doors with domelight to light up with unlock, open the trunk and have it lock the doors with ignition on.

Thank you for the help

As listed in the Audiovox tech sheet, some Fords have a GEM shutdown. The way to test for this is to have the drivers window open, lock the car by pressing the switch on the door, then shut the door. Wait 5-10 minutes and try to unlock the car by pressing the switch on the inside of the car on the door. If the locks don't do anything, you have the shutdown feature. If they do unlock, you don't have that feature.

There is a way to shut off this feature on most Fords also. Here's the process for that:

Turn the ignition on, then push unlock on the drivers door switch 3 times.

Turn the ignition off, then push unlock on the drivers door switch 3 times.

Turn the ignition on, the horn should honk at you, then hit unlock twice.

now shut off the ignition. This will disable the shutdown feature from Ford and you won't have to worry about the locks not working after a few minutes or tapping into any additional wires to make your locks work. On a couple of vehicles I've had to do this process with the driver's door open and some with it closed, so if it doesn't work on the first try, try it with the door open/closed.

Other than that TEST you wires first. The biggest mistake most people make is assuming the tech sheet is always right. Its just a guide for you. If you have any more questions let us know.

Good information to know, I was not aware you could shut this feature off. Do you have a reference for where you got this information from? Is it in the owner's manual? Is there a site that you got it from? If there is could you please share, I would like to know if there are any other tricks like this for other vehicles as well.

I used to have a buddy who worked at a ford service center. I wish I could remember the things he taught me. I know there are ways to shut off the seat belt chime and a whole bunch of other things. I can't for the life of me remember anything else though. It was a while ago.

The seat belt chime is listed in the Owner's manual. Just did not know if the GEM shutdown turn off was listed or not. Ohh well, thanks for the information!
