I just recently got the alpine unit and i am trying to test it for power. do i have to hook up anything more than just the red yellow and black.   do the lines to the brakes have both be hooked up to just get power to the unit

The constant, switched and ground have to be hooked up in order for this unit to work. No other connections need to test for start up and operation unless you want to test for video input, the you need the foot and hand brake connections hooked up as well.

I just recently replaced the ribbon band i replaced it myself could this be a problem.  Is there any other things that could be causing the loss of power all the fuses are good i looked in the manuel and it said to push the reset what should i see when it comes on.
