I wasn't sure what he wanted. In his forst part of the post he says he wants a "dvd/cd/tuner in dash for my 2002 2500hd crew cab " and then he states that " i want to do a system with a single source head unit and lcd screen, all run through my amps, etc" so I figured that I would post one of each. That Panasonic is a good one as well , forgot about that !!

I would use the Pioneer AVH-P7490DVD.  I have one and it's the best ever.  It does everything.  The screen is motorized it's the greatest headunit.  It's a DVD/CD/AM/FM.  The picture quality of this screen is better than any other mobile LCD on the market. Poineer only makes the best screens.  Go look at a  home video store and look around, pioneer only makes a high end stuff.  there TV's are like $4000 thats because there the best. So are there in car units.
do you smell smoke

No I did not buy mine at autotoys.  It is a great unit though.  I dont know about the pixels being burned out.  sounds like a way to make you buy theirs.  It also has a touch screen.  It sorta works like a teller machine.  You can go to autotoys or Clarion .co to read more about them.      Brian

All screens have pixels out.. some just don't have as many.. have seen them on Alpine/Poineer to Mobile TV.. There is an industry standard on this.. like a max number they can have before shipping.. Don't be fooled about it.. don't let the saleman tell you there will be none in your screen.. Becuase if the installer puts in it and there are some little blue dots in the picture, he WILL NOT think twice about it.. and you will be a little pissed off, because you were promised your $2000 Clarion will not have blue dots..

Good luck..
