There are 4 basic connections to hook up on the wiring harness:

  • Ground
  • 12 volts contant
  • 12 volt switched
  • remote turn on

Attach these wires to the head unit and run the appropriate output RCA's to the back of the EQ and from there run the RCA's to the amps that power your system. You do not need an amp to power this unit. The EQ 6500 is only a sound field manipulator and does not require any more power than what the head unit will output eq install -- posted image.

One is for remote turn on and the fused is the constant. Try this out and make sure that the EQ turns off when the radio turns off.

Yes, you should use the RCA out's on the heads to run the eq, and then from the EQ to your amps. The remote out it used to turn on amplifiers and your eq when the stereo is on. It should be connected to your amp's remote terminal and to the Eq's non-fused blue wire.
