Check for grounded speaker wires.  (Of the speaker wires connected to the radio.  Not of an outboard amplifier)  Did you recently change any of your speakers?  If so make sure the terminals of those speakers are not touching metal.   Disconnect all speakers from radio and connect them back one speaker at a time.  Connect one, turn the radio on and see if the message is there.  Keep connecting speakers and turning deck on until the message reappears.  Then you will know which speaker wire is the problem.

If you have an ohm meter and would rather use that, simply unplug the harness from the back of the radio and check each wire for a short to ground.
