I recently installed another amp to my existing setup. I have a '08 Chrysler 300 and 2 12" Kicker L7 subwoofers powered by a ZX1500.1 (08 model) and just installed a ZX750.1 (older model) to power the other sub. After I installed the ZX750.1 my ZX1500.1 won't turn on, all the cables are wired properly, I tested all the volt and ohm readings with a volt meter and everything is good. I even disconnected the ZX750.1 and only connected the ZX1500.1 and it still wouldn't turn on. Why won't it turn on?

When you checked voltage, did you have the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp, or did you have it to the chassis of the car?  Did you check for voltage on the remote wire also?  I am betting that you checked with the meter lead on the chassis of the car, and you have a bad ground.

Yes, I checked with the black meter to the ground and to the car and both readings were the same, and I checked the remote wire voltage as well.

If the amp has no fises mounted to the end of it, it sounds as though you may have a broken amplifier.  If it has fuses, check them.

No fuses, so I guess I blew my amp then, wish I knew how because I only had it for a week.

Does the power light work at all?  Is the protection light on?  Was there ever any smoke coming from the amp?

Power light doesn't work, protection light would blink when I used the voltmeter between the power connector and remote connector on the amp, no smoke and it doesn't smell unusual either.

What kind of voltage reading did you get on the power and the remote wires?  I see no reason for the light to flash when testing it with the meter.

I can't remember exactly what it was off the top of my head, and I don't have the voltmeter here, but it was very low when it was off and was over 12v when it was on.

The power wire was low when the radio was off?  Are you sure that it was not low when the radio was on, and above 12 when the radio was off?
