Ive had my system (in sig) for about 5 years and love it.  My sub enclosure is a cheap abs plastic one, which im going to build a new one for (different thread), and feel I may be lacking in the midbass region.  What would be some good choices for midbass with a set of mb quart components?  Im looking for quality first, punch second. my 10w6's are cutoff at 85 hz, and need something to take over from there.  Not as concerned about the cost.  Where are these often installed; kickpanels? Under seats?  Omnidirectional?

I have a Rockford T15004 puching the components, and would rather not install another amp.  Do midbass's come with crossovers to add on to a component system like i have?  Thanks in advance!

By the way, although this is my first post, ive been reading on here for a long time (about 5 years).  You guys helped me setup my system when i first got my truck in 05.

Since you have a Dodge PU, you have 6 x 9 locations in the doors. There is a bit of a depth problem but I bet you could enlarge the opening and fit a Kicker CompVT 8" in there. The thing you will really have to do is to make sure you stiffen the inner and outer door panels with a lot of sound dampening material. The more panels flex and vibrate, the worse the sound quality will get. The best thing to do would be to put the speaker in a very small sealed enclosure for tightest midbass response. This could be tough to do in a door panel but with some custom fiberglass work it can be done. You will need to run a separate amplifier to the midbass with adjustable upper and lower crossovers to set the sound to your preference. Don't be afraid of power here...the more the merrier! Put your existing components in good quality kick panels if you have not already. good luck

I'd get a good 6.5 component set. I have a 3 way set of Boston Pro & a MB Quart Premium Reference 3 way set. The Bostons are louder with a little more mid bass but the Quarts take less power to drive them & also have great mid bass too. I have silk dome tweeters with the Boston that I like better than the titanium tweeters the MBs have but thats a personal preferance. I put my mid bass speakers in the door with good sound deadening around them & the 4 & tweeters in a kick panel pod.
