rca problems?

I have a 04 hyundia sonata with an eclipse double din cd player the problem im having is getting sound to the woofer. ive hooked up 3 different amps and they all powered on. 3 different subs none of them worked. replaced the rca cables with different ones because i was told they were probably bad. i would hate to think the rca cables from the back of the stero are bad considering they were never touched and still had rubber capping on them. Can anyone tell me maybe im doing something wrong? i have a kenwood 1800w mono amp and a 12" kicker cvr im trying to connect. Thanks!

i did try switching the rca jacks every way i could. i also switched out the terminal with a new one

Use you meter on VAC. touch the black lead to the outside metal edge of the rca. touch the red lead to the center pin of the same rca. with the radio on you should see a constant fluctuation in voltage. if its not changing and at .003 volts or so, you arent getting signal to your amp. I have also seen some headunits with settings in the menu to turn the rca outputs off and on. check your settings to make sure you dont have this feature and its off.

I dont have a meter so im guessing ill have to buy one to find out if that is the case. i couldnt find ne thing in the settings of the cd player for rca jacks to be turned on or off. :(

Do you have or have access to some kind of MP3 player, or a phone with music on it?  If so you can get a 1/8 inch to RCA adaptor and run known good signal into the amp.

ok so i borrowed a circut tester from a co-worker. Its not the rca cables it is the red power cable... for some reason i cannot get it to work. i thought maybe the fuse was bad so bought a new fuse holder. i attached to the postive side of the battery in 2 different spots and still get nothing out of it. i even just laid it on the battery as well....still nothing. NE ideas now?

Did you get a new fuse?

yes bought a whole new fuse holder with fuse...errr just want beats!

Have you tested the power wire for 12V at all. You may have some corrosion in the wire causing a bad connection somewhere. I would check with a meter at the battery side of the fuse holder, then the amp side of the fuse holder, then at the amp and see where I'm losing 12V
