I would buy a harness and match the wires up to the descriptions on each wire then return it. Thats what a lot of people do to my company.

yeah, there are a lot of sleazy, low end, bottom feeders that pull that trick...which is why we finally had to make our policy "No Returns" on Metra harnesses......

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but dosen't the 2004 Cavalier have GM'S DATA BUS? The harness for this vehicle should cost you around $75. If you cut the harness off solder it back on, cutting the plug off could hurt the vehicles diagnostic system and the engine... It says this in the owners manual... We've had to solder back on numerous plugs kids that "knew what they were doing" cut off... One ended real bad... Girl had her friend install her deck (Pioneer from wal mart) He in turn ended up when all said and done... Frying the factory deck, factory amp, and pioneer head unit... so probably anywhere between $800-$1000 worth of equiptment... But this was in a malibu or impala I believe?... So save urself the time, agrivation, and money by finding out if ur car has this data bus any local shop should be able to look into the car at the radio and tell you but i'm 99.99999999% sure you have it... and you should be able to buy the harness, dash kit, and antenna adaptor from them all for under $100 and do the job yourself in about an hour or so?.... I'm not trying to be rude just trying to inform you of your thinking about cutting the plug off or tapping into those wires...
