 wireing in a amp in to my car i have got so far that all wires are connected apart from the remote how do i define  and where do i attach it at the back of the head unit

what kind of headunit is it? the remote is typically blue with a white stripe (outputs 12v with radio on, 0 when off) . if its a factory unit youll need to use the accesory wire.

if you have a digital multi meter, turn the car on and see which wire gives 12 volts when the vehicle is on, then turn it off and if it doesnt give 12 volts youve found the accessory wire :) run 16 or 18 gauge to the amp and voilaRemote cable -- posted image.
