im am putting a avh-p5700dvd in a 2006 silverado when i wire the wiring harness do i need to give it a seperate switched 12 volt or can i use the on that is in the harness? i am using the harness that does away with the door chimes if that helps. thanks in advance

you need to run an accessory wire, there isn't one in the harness.

The module that your using should have an output for the IGN wire, but if it doesn't you will need to run a new IGN wire from the fuse box or go directly to the PINK wire at the ignition harness.

Or if you want the unit to operate without the ignition circuits fully engaged, as in ACC position on the ignition tumbler, go to the ACC wire. It will be the orange wire in the same main ignition harness.
