Any help is greatly appreciated.

I just bought an iraggi 140/200 amp alt and had it installed. At idle, with the car in park the voltage is at 14 and won't fall below 13 even under heavy load. As soon as the car is shifted into gear (any gear) the voltage drops aroung 12 and will barely hit 13 under heavy revs and no load (under load it falls below 12).

Yellow top battery  /w big 3 done.

Looking at it, he hasn't put one of the bolts at the front of the alt. back on so its probably moving - belt tension is still where it needs to be though.

Car is an 03 tib.

E-mail Dom and tell him the situation, it sounds like you just need a slightly smaller pulley on that alt.

Yes he has, I had the same problem. The problem is that when you shift into gear the rpm of the motor drops causing the alternator to spin slower. You need a slightly smaller pulley on the alternator so it will output while at stop lights. He sent me a smaller pulley no charge.
If for some reason he wont help you. Stop by a local alternator shop and get them to order you a slightly smaller pulley.
He makes great alternators, but I guess he seems to over look this issue.

Thanks for the reply's. I sent him a new email.

I'm also getting bad alt  whine thru my components, would this be caused because the alternator is grounded to the ground strap?

Rca's are ran seperately (twisted, shielded) then the rest of the wires.

You need to do the Big 3 wire upgrade if you haven't done so already, with that alternator you need a 1 gauge wire from the alt + to the battery +, from the alt - to the battery -, and the battery - to the body. Plus leave the factory wireing in place. Remember to fuse the + wire from the alt to the battery for around 250-300 amps.

yep yep all done.

:)

He couldn't fit a 0 ga ground (used a 4) on the alt because it is so close to the supercharger belt, but he managed to fit one for the +.

Looks like you caught him on a good day or something.

We ship all alternators with a slightly smaller pulley already. If you want something smaller, we have a cnc machined 1 5/8" pulley for $59

Thanks, Dom

Ouch, well, hit up google I guess then. Measure up the one you have now and try to find one a little smaller. They go for like $20 in sure...you don't need a bling $59 one.

Well I found my old post when I bought my alternator here : https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=66214&KW=alpine+guy
It refreshed my memory, he did send me a new pully, but still too big so I ended up buying one online.
