tri sub box with 3 subs in it

pic of my setup, 2 type-rs, 1 on each side, and the center is my koiiler, all 12" subs, 500 watts rms each, koiilers 1000 peak though, so altogether its 1500/4000 But its a single chamber box... should i chamber it or will it be fine with 1 chamber? and yes i used the wiring diagrams from the12volt to wire the 3 subs to 2.667 ohms my amps a sony 1600 watt amp, 900x1 at 2 ohms, it has 3 40 amp fuses and i can turn it a little over 1/2 up b4 the subs start sounding "odd" but its a very big increase in my system over just my koiiler in the bandpass box, also may be getting a 750.1 kicker to power them

I'm sure it was an increase. Glad we could help you out from the other thread. PS: RMS power is really all that matters when you are talking about amps/speakers. Were all the woofers SVC?

no, there all 4-ohm dvc, wired down to 2.667 ohms, i believe my sony should be fine powering them

well that makes sense, I just didnt think the 'koiiler' was DVC.

o, lol, a buddy of mine thinks its a bad idea to have them all in the same chamber. is it really a bad idea or no? i just had them running and well, its been a while since ive made my ears hurt to say the least, BUT it doesnt seem like there at their full potential... their wired to 2.6 ohms and my amps stable at 2 ohms and does 900x1 at 2ohms, BUT its not even turned half up and if i turn it more than 1/2 they sound distorted and terrible, i believe it may be a little past 1/2 but still

btw my amps a Sony XM-DS1600P5, Sony XM-DS1600P5 should i be powering the 3 subs with that amp????? also any feedback is appreciated...especially on the box situation

that "odd" sound is your amp clipping

alrighty, i figured that somewhat, i know of clipping just didnt realize thats what that was, but now i know 4 sure

an amp doesnt ONLY 'clip' at the maximum gain level. You have to listen to it when you tune your amp. Read the guide on tuning amps for more details. It is true that the mixed subs could counteract each other, but it sounds like it is your optimum setup for now. Save up and buy a matching woofer and sell your other to your friend.

yeah coppell thats what i plan on doing but itll be a bit b4 i can... i got the 2 type-rs in a ported box +the tri box, for $300, so im broke atm, im only a highschool kid
