I recently bought an 89 Suburban that has a viper alarm system installed, and it goes off at total random. I want to completely disengage it, is there anyway I can just cut a wire and get on with life lol? If so where are the brains or main power wire for these things usually installed?

Brain under dash, cut red wire or disconnect fuse that should be in that wire.

if it's triggering without cause then, there are two possible causes your shock sensor needs lowering or one of the contacts for either doors, hood or hatch needs fixing, if you haven't already disconnected like howie advised, then there should be a valet button somewhere ( a small black push type button, normal places are the driver kick, under steering or glove compartment), just simply turn on the ignition turn it off and tap the button once and that will put the alarm in valet mode until you can rectify ur probs.

thanks for the info guys..took all put 2 seconds to locate the brain and pull the fuse.

Good info t&t but I was wanted to get rid of the system anyway, im installing radio equiptment that puts out some serious RF that probably wouldnt get along with the alarm system anyway.
