I installing a python 990 in a 2006 Kia Sorento do I need to use the 451 relay module that was included in the box or can I just use the main control module to control the locks?
Also I am installing a PKALL for the remote start, there is a wire ribbion with it. Does that hook into satellite relay or main control module?

  • The 451M is not needed for your installation. However, it can be used for progressive unlock (DDU), DISARM, and/or DOMELIGHT SUPERVISION.
  • Depending on which cable you speak of, neither.

Thanks for the info. The PKALL instructions say I should hook the blue/white wire to alarm (-) while running (status. Do you know what harness and wire on the alarm this goes to? There is a blue/white wire on the remote start secondary harness labeled (-)status output or a blue/white wire on primary harness label remote start (-) activation input.

That's the one . Then read your install instructions. The first rule of installation is RTFM.

That would be correct.

I am hookingup the tach and I found one red wire that matched the wiring diagram but it runs 5 dc instead of 1-6 ac. I found another wire red wire that alternates ac but runs @15 ac whisch is higher than intructions say. Are both the wrong wires?

PKALL is a transponder bypass module, isn't it?
That doesn't sound right. The U.S. Sorento has no transponder key. The Canadian model probably does, but I think any module you could buy, you'd need the Kia dealer's scan tool to program it.
As far as tach, just leave that for the very last.
That is, complete your entire installation, LED, ground, antenna and so forth.
Then, make a temporary connection (don't even tape it up) to what you think is the right tach wire, try to program it to the remote starter.......if the remote starter learns it, try the remote start and see if it works.
If it does work, then you should be all set to trim the tach wire to length and make the connection more permanent.
