Hi folks,

I was browsing the net for some answer to my question and found your great forums!

I own a Ford Mustang GT 2005 and I got a compustar 2way alarm installed on tuesday from the great best buy!

everything work fine on it... maybe a little too much lol
i have a appointement on next wensday to check out my situation but would like to have your opinion.
1- when i arm it, and disarm and make couple query to see the status my dome light and radio goes on (dome light 15 sec i think and radio the factory time) that i can live with that... but after if i leave the car disarm the dash comes on and stay open until i re arm or put the key in the ignition. weird no?
2- the alarm have been triggerd many time... i tought the shock sensor was too high, but no after shutting off the sensor through my remote its getting me always false alarm like some one open my door (door triggered).
every +/- 30 min my car alarm ring for no reason. so for now i keep my alarm to valet mode like this i dont disturb all my neighbors.
did you guys see the second situation before?
i just hope if best buy dont find the problem they will refund me and take back their defective alarm.
Thanks

On the new Mustangs, they rest at N/C so when the computer on the car shuts off, it goes to an open circuit causing a false alarm. If you have a CM5000 CPU you should be able to program it to accept the open circuit door trigger.

Open circuit door pins on a 2005? Unlikely, more likely they didn't follow the 1076 diagramme, also If I remember only the hood switch was open circuit. I remember fitting a normal hood switch to one.

The individual door trigger wires are Normally Close type. They rest at ground with the door closed and go to an open circuit with the door open. The driver door is lt. GREEN/ black at the SJB, black 26 pin plug, pin 2. The passenger door is yellow/lt. green at the SJB, black 26 pin plug, pin 6.

Ask the installer to use the dome light wire instead and program the Compustar to activate the dome light delay ( Feature 3-03 / Option 4 ) AUTO so that it will arm the system AFTER the Compustar sees the dome light turn off. ( if using a CM4300 CPU )

Dome light wire color: lt. GREEN/ YELLOW

-sjb, gry 26 pin plug, pin 25.

BTW: The option chart changes if you have a CM3000 series CPU. Check to see which one you have or just make sure that the guys over at Best Buy changes the dome light delay option when using the dome light as the door trigger.
