2007 jeep wrangler remote start prep

Hey there all...first would like to thank you all for everything you guys do to help out all the newbs out there. Ok, I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler 2dr Sahara. This is my first remote start install. I have some knowledge about electronics and installing audio/video in vehicles. I would like to know if I am getting the correct items that I need. - Directed Python 413 Remote Start - Fortin - EVO-CHR - THARN-CHR2 All I would like to accomplish is adding remote start and keeping the remote lock and unlock. Nothing more is needed. thanks for any and all feedback

get the installation guide for the evochr, and the python. whatever wires you see on the evochr, you will match and connect that to the python remote start. its simply match the wires, solder and tape it up. If you have it all prepped on the bench, it should take you 1.5h at most to install. Its a very simplistic system to install (when using the fortin evo chr)Ted

thank you very much. does the evochr need to be flashed? Meaning do I need to purchase the flash-link updater to flash the evochr?

it should come pre-flashed but make sure you get both the correct hardware version and firmware version. Some online retailers carry out of date bypasses. Go on ifar.ca and look up the latest install diagram for the bypass and it will tell you which hardware/firmware version you need.Kenny

thanks again for all your help. I think I have one last question. I am very confused with the connection to the MUX relay. Honestly, I have no clue what the MUX relay even is. Is this a part I need to purchase? If so, where? In the picture above, all the wires going into/coming out of the MUX relay, I understand the MUX wire needs to be cut. But, what do the lines with the arrows at the end mean? a little clarification on that whole process would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

you need a standard automotive relay. 30 or 40 amps. you can get this at any parts or electronics retailer such as radioshack, besbuy, circuit city etc. the lines with the arrow simply indicate use wires away from the plug.Ted

ok, another question. Upon unplugging the 5 pin connector, there are only 4 wires. The MUX wire is nonexistent. I'm stumped... thanks again.

Are you sure its the mux that is missing and not the starter? Some will not have the + starter, and depending on how you are looking at the plug, they could appear to be the same pin...Kenny
