Hello. I recently installed a viper 5706v and one of the options is a turbo timer. Well I went through the install and wired a button to ground and went through menu 3 and turned on the turbo timer to 5 minutes. The timer works great if the vehicle is already running and the bottom is depressed, starting the timer, you can then take your keys and it will count down the 5 minutes before shutdown. However..... say the vehicle is already off, ignition and all. If that same button is depressed it will start the autostart sequence and run for the set 24 minutes. Is this normal? If so, is there a way around it? So that the button just can't be pressed and started whenever

The answer to your question is no, why not just run the RS for 5 minutes and BTW, 5 minutes is far too long about 90 seconds before it removes all the oil it just put back.

That's what the button is for. To activate the turbo timer sequence. However the problem is the button also activates the auto start sequence when the ignition is off. The 5 minutes is for a cool down after a long highway drive.

You're only supposed to press it whilst the vehicle is still running doh!

And the long 24 minute remote start is to get the a/c going before I get out there, not necessarily needed but well wanted in the desert

I get that it's intended purpose is only to be pressed while running, so why does it also work when the vehicle is off? By the way, thank you for your responses and your help

White blue is a test the start wire, maybe you've done something wrong? Not getting into it, just only use it when finishing your journey.

It's all wired correctly, guess I'm out of luck on this one. The only other option I considered to do is wire a relay that will only allow it to connect to ground while the ignition is on, so when off it will be unable to connect to ground.
