I was just given a Command Start CS2400 for nothing from my mom as she cannot put it in her new vehicle or it will void her warranty.  The only problem is that I cannot find the installation manual that came with it?  Does anyone have a copy of it they could send me or know where I can find a copy?

Cheers,

remote starters when installed professionally and properly will NOT void any such vehicle warranty.  let me guess, the dealer offered one of "their" starters for $1000 that "won't" void it....its a freakin joke.  we all have the paperwork that proves warranty cannot be voided unless it is clearly proven that the remote starter did the damage.  and THEN, they just refuse to fix the damage under warranty....

I am going to be installing a Command Start unit in my 97 Grand Prix SE 3800 and I am a little confused as to where I need to hook my tach sensing wire to?  It says that it is used for over run protection, do I really need to hook this up?

Cheers,

Ravn

Yes this is a mandatory connection for the unit to work properly. TACHOMETER is a PURPLE / white @ the ECM under the hood.

Is the ECM something that I should be able to find in my Haynes manual as I have no idea what the ECM looks like and that could prove to make things some what more difficult.

Yes, the ECM or PCM should be in your Haynes manual. IT will be the main junction block that all your wires go to in the engine compartment.
