is it just with the RS or when the key is used? And if its the RS you mean when you first remote start it it runs fine and then when you do it a 2nd time it runs rough?

It seems some mazdas are sensitive to the tach hook up.  We did an MX6 that did the same, try diferrent tach or cap on line.  Frustrating when its not consistant.

we had a similar problem with a dodge dakota, it turned out to be a bad ignition coil, make sure your tach wire it okay, and if all else fails found out if you can get someone to read the code (autozone).  We just spent $300 to fix a customers igntion coil.
