trying to wire this to a 97 probe but I dont understand what they mean in the wiring list for pin 5&7 they are listed as immobilizer data tap and immobilizer sync tap and on the car side they are for tap immobilizer pins 3/4 are these the wires  for the transponder if so then what are pins 8/9 for as they  are listed as ign. car side & ign. key side

The 97 Ford Probe doesn't have PATS. You should be able to direct connect a remote starter to the car without having to use the 555P.

no  my one has the same system as the mazda with the little red plug on the key an a plastic housing on the lock cylinder with 2 green wires

Have you tried installing the system without the DEI unit to see if it starts for you ? I still don't think the system you have is PATS. The Mazda MX-6 did not have the immobilizer system in it either.

As it was stated before, the Ford Probe does not have PATS, if there is something there now, it is after market, not OEM.

no it won,t go unless there is a key  next to the ignition barrel the 97 probe in the uk had the transponder fitted  after all the problems they had with  the bosch immobiliser I just don,t understand what they mean by immobiliser data & sync tap

Just use a universal key required bypass module instead then. Will do the same except you loose a key.

looks like I,ll need to as Ican,t figure out what these wires are for the instructions are very vague thanks for the advice anyway guys much appreciated
