Hey guys I really need some guidance from some experts here fast,  I'm in the middle of installing a remote starter in my father's 2000 GMC Sierra and I'm unsure of a couple things.  I have most of it installed, passkey and all but:

Its a Prostart 3300 car starter with GM passkey/VATS, the truck has all the bells and whistles from the factory for this model year.

- The starter wire is suppose to be yellow from the ignition harness but the only yellow wires i can find are one that looks to be 22 gauge and runs from the switch to the ignition harness, and another that’s perhaps 20 gauge and runs from the switch to the fuse panel.  Which, if any, is the right one?

- Parking lights, I have three different sheets that tell me to hook it up at three different places.  The one tell me just the light blue wire at the switch itself so I chose this and only hooked up the parklight(+) from the car starter to this, but there is also a parklight (-) from the car starter, do I need this or is it better to wire both at the BCM under the dash?

- I'm confused about the arm/disarm and door lock hook up for this vehicle.  I've looked at the wiring diagrams on this site and some of the wires don't appear to be where they say the should be or appear to be totally inaccessible.  The drivers door pin switch on this truck is in the third door of the extended cab so where in the heck do i find this wire up near the dash?  Also two out of the three wiring diagrams i have only list a disarm wire.  So please what the heck do i hook up to make this work!!!  I'm confused please help.

- Door lock activators from the car starter are (-) pulsed but it appears that the connection for this truck require + pluses, is this correct and where do I make the connections?  In the drivers kick panel I only see three harnesses two of with appear to connect to a plastic junction, is this just a pass-through wire for wire because the lt green wires for the door locks, I think, appear to come in one end and out the other.  What do I hook up for the door locks, the truck does have keyless entry from the factory.

Cheers,

Chris.

The startrer wire IS a small yellow wire, the other is the passlock R-code wire.

The locks are in the module under the dash....brown blug  lt.blue and white  they are Pos.(+)

The disarm is in the purple plug. Its a neg(-) trigger. Lt.green

To arm...you trigger the door pin wire after run or with the lock.....ITS A NEGATIVE (-) THOUGH...so I dont no if your remote start has any aux outputs, if it does...use is for the re-arm

Does this make sence?

Anyone have any idea on this.

I've installed a Prostart CT-3300 car starter and PATSK-350 bypass module in my 2000 GMC sierra.   All it does when I try and start it is it cranks over for a second or two and doesn't start.  It tries to start itself three times doing the same thing.  I'm using the second ignition wire output from the bypass module.  Everything appear to be hooked up right and programs fine, the tack signal programs fine (I'm using the purple wire off the coil harness for this).   I've hooked teh disarm wire to the green wire in the drivers kick (I'm not exactly sure this is the right wire).  Everything seems to point towards the passkey 2 not being bypassed but I've tried putting the key in the ignition and trying the remote starter with the same results.

Does anyone have some suggestions because I'm stumped.

I would double check your dipswitches. Try a different setting.
You said you tried to start the car with the key in the ignition, but that wont work unless the key is turned to ON. But then most remote starters wont try to remote start with ther key in the on position. One thing i have never tried because i have never had to, but I would think if you pressed the start button on the remote then turned the key to on, the remote starter would try to start, then you would know if it is the bypass. Be sure the bypass module is not being triggered though when you try this. You should be able to just disconnect the ground when running wire from the RS to test this way.
Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks I'll try this.

One thing I noticed, doesn't the passlock 2 system lock out the ignition system for ~10 mins if a wrong resistor or no resistor is used?  In my case I can start the truck with the key right after a missed start with the remote starter, is this normal or is it just pointing to some other problem causing this other than the passlock module??  Thoughts?

Ok after two bad passlock 2 bypass modules I got it working but I wish I could have bought a 555L instead of this crappy PATSK-350 I got.  They don't sell the 555L around here and most install guys won't sell them to the public here so I'm SOL.

Double check your resistance measurement, and then, on the bench, power up the module and double check the resistance vs. what the manual tells you. Passlock2 you get a 5% error margin.... not too bad if the car needs to see 13kohms..... not too good if it needs to see 600ohms. I used to bench all of the dipswitch modules before they went into the vehicle. Some were fairly close to the chart, many were in the ballpark, most were somewhere out in the parking lot next to the souvenier stand, so to speak.
