Here is some information on a 1979 Mercedes 450 SL. You can use some of the information as reference colors and test the other's with a DMM. The door locks you will need an actuator:

|       ITEM      |     WIRE COLOR     |POL|       WIRE LOCATION        |

|              12V|red                 |+  |at fuse box in pass.        |
|          STARTER|PURPLE / white *1     |+  |kick panel. Make sure       |
|         IGNITION|RED / black           |+  |to locate large gauge       |
|        ACCESSORY|RED / green           |+  |wires from key.             |
|       POWER LOCK|add actuator        |   |driver's door               |
|     POWER UNLOCK|add actuator        |   |                            |
| PARKING LIGHTS +|gray, gray/white    |   |lt. switch *2               |
|       HEADLIGHTS|WHITE/ yellow        |+  |at light switch *2          |
|     DOOR TRIGGER|BROWN / gray          |+  |either pin or ctsy lt.      |
|  TRUNK/HATCH PIN|*3                  |   |at trunk switch/light       |
|       TACHOMETER|                    |   |                            |
|       BRAKE WIRE|BLACK/ red           |+  |brake switch                |
|     HORN TRIGGER|BLACK / YELLOW/pink   |+  |st. column harness          |
|  LF WINDOW UP/DN|green, black        |   |switches in console         |
|  RF WINDOW UP/DN|grn/yel, blk/wht    |   |                            |

Notes:

*1 Starter wire goes to a relay located just above the fuse panel. Also locate at a terminal strip on the passenger side inner fender.  *2 The light switch removes by pulling the knob straight off (do not break the little bulb inside) and unscrewing the big nut. Under the rubber boot on the back of the switch are screw terminal connections. ALso find gray/red and gray black wires at the fuse box.  *3 Solder wire directly to switch contact at light/switch fixture.
