Looking for wiring diagram for 2009 legacy 2.5i limited.
I found this for a legacy GT, I am assuming it is the same just wanted to make sure.

Also, any recommendations on remote start systems? Looks like I will have to use the 556U bypass.
Thanks!

2007 thru 2009 are the same.    Bulldog Security web site lists your car:  Here is the link : http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.asp

A lot of the wires can be found in the BIU that is below the steering column.  Key in the box is about it unless you have connections to a dealer scan tool, then there are some transponder bypass units that are available so you won't lose a key. (  iDatalink ADS-RNG SUB or  Fortin PATS-Subaru .)

Any quality remote start is a good choice.  Proper installation is the key.  Most people go by remote transmitter.  One Way, Two Way, LCD, range, price, etc.  All depends on what is important to you.  Just remember, the big names ( DEI Viper, Compustar, etc ) do not give warranty or support to DIY installs.

For a solid, one way, remote start with good range and features that is reasonably priced, check out the U1272 Pro from Ultra Start at  http://www.ultrastarters.com/products_pro.html   You can download the install & owners manual to get an good idea its capabilities.  Shop around at the local install shops, too.

Thanks!
I was looking into Ultra Start, I installed one of them on my Eclipse back in the day. Better range than I needed.
I was actually looking into some of the Ultra Start 2-ways.
I will be installing it myself, the eclipse was easy this can't be much harder. The whole bypass thing will be different. (Unless I can find a shop to do it at a reasonable price which is unlikely.

Two way remotes use batteries faster.  The Ultra Start U3270 FM  comes with one 2 way remote and one 1 way remote.  The 1 way remote has no LED to signify a button press...

The Key in the box bypasses are usually very easy to install.  Just make sure the antenna loop is wrapped the correct number of times around the ignition cylinder in the correct spot and securred in place well.  Also make sure the key is in the right spot in the box and securred to prevent shifting.

Good luck.

How fast are we talking for batteries?
Also where could I find how many times to wrap the coil what is the correct spot? Will the bypass unit have instructions that are car specific?
Also, this is MT, so am I going to need to wire up a relay for clutch? (I just disconnected the harness on the eclipse, yeah I was lazy)

1. Batteries depend on how much you use it.  The one ways last me over a year.  The 2 ways might go only a few months.

2. The instructions for the 556U are pretty good.  The antenna loop is already formed for you.  There are some strapping choices.

3.  If the car is a manual trans, you want to get a remote start system specifically designed for it.  you tube has a couple of pretty crashes of M/T cars with auto only remote starts installed. Ultra Start has some remote starts for manual trans, they have the yellow colored control units.  If you can afford a little more, the Compustar FT6200-S is manual safe and allows easy flexibility with many remote choices.

Thanks! Yeah I know to get a MT version. I had a MT version on my eclipse and had to double tap the brakes to get the car in reservation mode. I am assuming the compustar works the same way?

The Compustar ( CM5x00 and CM6x00 ) watches the emergency brake.  With the car running, put on the emergency brake.  The compustar sees it and turns on the parking lights.  With the car in neutral, let the clutch up and take your foot off the brake pedal.  Turn the key to off and remove it, the car engine continues to idle.  Exit the car.  After the last door is closed, the Compustar will lock the doors and shut off the engine.  It is now in Reservation Mode.  The remote start must be installed in Tach mode.  If any door, the hood or the trunk is opened, reservation mode is cancelled.

So here is what I am currently thinking about buying:
Compustar FT6200S
Compustar RF2W900 Remote and Antenna Kit
556U
Will all this work well? And will I need a factory alarm bypass?
I was really trying to find a 2w standalone remote start unit from ultra start either 3266M or 3271m, but I can't seem to find them online. I will have to try calling a dealer and see if they will sell it to me without install.

The Compustar FT6200-S is a nice unit but because of its extra features a little more involved to install.  It does have a (-) Start output that will make bypassing the clutch easier.  Additionally, it does not come with an install guide, just a fold out wiring schematic and a programming options listing.  Look for and download the CM5x00 or CM6x00 install guide.    You will need that to program the remotes and do the Tach Learn process. You will need a 30/40 Amp SPDT relay for the second ignition wire and some blocking diodes for the door, hood & trunk triggers.

There is a Factory Alarm Disarm wire ( FACTORY ALARM DISARM   YELLOW/RED (-) in DRIVERS KICK PANEL or BIU, (GRAY, 35-PIN PLUG) ) that the Compustar can use to turn off the alarm.

Yes, the manual Ultra Start models are hard to find and the 2 ways are even harder.
