Hello Guys,

I just want to ask about a Remote Starter for a Ford Pick up 2002 (Mexican). Is there any difference between Mexican and US cars from the same year?

It has factory security system  and I know it woun't start remotelly if I do not use a By-pass module.  I have done many RS, but no one with factory security. This is the newest car I ever work, all my customers were 94's and older.  Any sugestions on how to install it or what have you done to install a RS for this kind of vehicle. All your comments are very appreciated.

Thanks and Regards.

Thanks for the info. Just few questions:

How to connect the PATS by pass?

What is the Two Step Factory and the RKE?

Is the factory disarm + or - signal?

Regards.

You will need a PATS bypass module and an extra key to introduce the proper resistance to the PATS computer.

  • The RKE is a Remote Keyless Entry
  • The factory disarm is ( - ) input signal

The last time I installed into a 2001 Ford F150 V8 the customer had a RKE system BUT it was not what all the paper's and database wiring diagrams said it was ! IT eneded up being a straight ( - ) grounding system. The stupid thing was that the power unlock was not in the factory keyless entry module ( ??? ) The lock wire was a PINK / YELLOW ( - ) located in the RKE module and the unlock wire was a  PINK/LT.GREEN ( - ) located behind the passenger kick panel in a loom of wires leading to the passenger side door.

The PATS bypas system is easy ... take a relay ( 30/40 amp ) and hook it up like this:

  • 86 - Primary ignition ( BLUE/GREEN )
  • 85 - Ground out when running on remote starter
  • 87 - Key cylinder( wrap a 22 gauge wire around the key cylider column about 8 - 10 times and connect to pin 87 . This wire must be 20 - 24 gauge otherwise it will not introduce the signal into the PATS properly and you will get hit and miss starts.
  • 30 - Spare key with resistor in the black molded top part. You must wrap the the same wire that goesinto pin 87 around this key about 8 - 10 times as well and connect to pin 30.

I hope this is easy to follow and if not let me know and I will put up a picture of this circuit for you later.

Hey not a problem !! FORD Pick-up FS. -- posted image. I figured that I spent about 16 hours trying to find all the problems with the Ford truck, why should you have to !!. Just make sure of all your connections and test for wire verification to ensure that what we are advising is what your vehicle has. Good luck and if you have any more problems, please post and someone will be able to help you out .
