A new guy in need of help

Hello guys. I'm in need of some help here.

I've got a 98 Lexus Gs 400 and I was going  to replace the crappy deck with a new DVD unit and I had a friend cut the old unit out.

Well, when he cut it out he cut through the constant, remote and ground all at once and shorted something out.Now there is no constant behind the dash, the dome light is out and the remote on the key doesnt work.

I have looked long and hard for a blown fuse  and cant seem to find one.I metered every fuse I can find both in the kick panel and under the hood and all the fuses look good.

My only thought is that there is a control unit somewhere that might be blown.

Any ideas here would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance.

Ive got a fairly extensive backround in car audio.This one just had me miffed.

I just found the problem though.Not only is there a fuse box under the hood and in the drivers side kick panel but there is also one inside the passenger kick panel.Sure enough the culprit was a blown fuse.

This is the first import i've ever owned so I wasnt sure about it, but all roads pointed to a blown fuse, I just couldnt find it and wouldnt dare think there would be a third fuse box.

Oh well, live and learn.
