I am on an extremely tight budget and i'm in the process of making a ported box for 2 subs...My grandpa works for a place called hubert fiberboad and they make medium and high density fiberboard and I can get it for free my grandpa says it has asphualt in it and people usually use it for insulation. My question is will this work for a box? It will still be 3/4 inch. He also says it will be hard getting it to stick together. Would glue and staples work?

MDF = Medium Density Fiberboard

I have never heard of MDF being hard to stick together.  Staples and wood glue would be a good combination for the MDF we use.

Asphalt in the trunk of a car on a hot summer day would probley ruin you trunk asphalt gets soft in the heat

also flex to much when it got soft I would think this may not be the best route to go even if it was free

FREE IS GOOD

My wife thinks bagging a truck means you kick it in the truck nuts
