I have experience in the past with making fiberglass enclosures but now Im doing one a different way and have some questions about the details. if I glass the side of the car to get the shape do I have to make a wood frame that outlines the sides and top of the box or can I just glass the sides of the box and staple my fleece right to the sides without the wood framing/outlining

Its almost impossible to staple into fiberglass. Once you fiberglass the area where the box is going to go, pop out the mold, finish the lay up, trim the excess, mount the rings. Once you are ready to fleece, use 3m spray adhesive to apply fleece. that stuff is pretty strong. PM me if you have anymore questions.
