subs mounted differently in ported box

will a box built to fit 4 12" subs with a single port in the center run properly without cutting each other out... meaning 2 subs will be mounted on the top of the box and the other 2 will be on the front of the box along with the port in the middle...i have seen a bandpass box built with 2 subs back to back and was just wondering if it will work the way i was wondering

As long as you got all the subs wired in phase you should be good.
