Trim question?

I have a question on what size mdf, or are people using something different such as panel board to trim up there enclosures for example If I were to hide  my amp in the spare tirewell under a false floor with a hole cut out w/ plexi?

1/2" - 5/8" MDF for large flat areas to avoid flexing, but for something that isnt going to be holding any weight such as a FG cover u can use anything u need to use to get the shape.
