this be my first project. i was planning on doing a subwoofer enclosure in the summer but my supplies are just glaring at me from the corner. so i fell to the need and started it up. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISISM IS WELCOME AS THIS IS MY FIRST EVERY EXPERIENCE WITH FIBERGLASS

it's not done but below is the mold process.

the last picture is only 3 layers, i added a fourth, and a fifth to the verticle surface while it was out of the car.

comments?

it looks great so far, looks like you did your research. My first two projects were horrid, the first one because I didn't do any research, and teh second one because I bit off more than I could chew.  the third one was started today, and looking promising. Yours looks solid and well thought out. good job

yep. one sub. it'll be too small though, i'm sure of it. but it's no matter, i'll be fabricating a completely different enclosure for it this summer. i just wanted to play with fiberglass and couldnt wait.

it's for an eclipse 15"

Looks like you are off to a good start but next time you may want to use mdf as much as you can. That way you don't have to use as many layers of fiberglass. It looks like the bottom is flat so a piece of wood would have worked in that case and you may have been able to use some on the sides depending on how the car is. None the less what you have there looks good and will work fine as long as you add some bracing to help contain that 15.

Yes, make sure it is VERY thick.  I have a 15" Kicker Comp, and there is so much air going through there(i have it ported so its alittle worse, but you get idea.)  So make sure it can handle that!

Picture update.

i drove back to my mom's house at 5am to finish this. here's the progress thus far.

im hoping to get at least 5 more layers on the baffle and reinforce the box a bit more before i get some sleep.

i picked up 2 1,500watt personal heaters from home depot for $10/ea to speed things up.
