underglow lights LED vs Neon

neons heat up, take more power, and only do one colour at a time...the most action you can get out of them is pulsing..but they're cheap.

LEDs draw less power, don't (shouldn't) heat up and can do almost any colour with one set (they have sets where you can change the colour with a controller), you can have them flash in patterns etc. ....but they're expensive...-er.  Oh and they're brighter

Neons make a glow, LEDs have a poor viewing angle usually so that's why it takes so many in a tube, but with enough, you don't need to worry about a spotty pattern usually.    If you're on a tighter budget, neons will do the trick but LEDs are fancier and a better option overall I think

I'm not sure which I am going for but something to keep in mind is with LEDs it is very very easy to DIY an underglow kit, with LEDs being dirt cheap in places like eBay.

Oh, and LEDs last longer than neons, and turn on instantly (my neons take a few seconds to come on when it is cold ie: below 0)
