Quoted from Pete Kulicki
"This is quoted from Pete Kulicki
"If you're referring to the T/S parameters, here's an in-depth rundown:
https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/thiele.asp
The only discrepancy I see there is the explanation of Vas. It says: "Vas represents the volume of air that when compressed to one cubic meter exerts the same force as the compliance (Cms) of the suspension in a particular speaker."
That's incorrect.
Obviously, in order to "compress" a volume of air into one cubic meter, such volume would have to exceed one cubic meter. This would also mean that, if a woofer was to have any mechanical suspension at all, it's Vas parameter would have to exceed 35 cubic feet (or 1000 liters), additionally, a higher value would translate to stiffer suspension (which, of course is not the case).
Vas is, in fact, the volume of air that one cubic cubic meter is compressed down to in order to exert the same meters per Newton "push-back" as the woofer's mechanical suspension.""

The definitions on this site came from the Rane technical library.  It is far more important for a user to understand how to use the parameter than to know a precise definition, isn't it?
