Can i run an alpine type S sub with a hifonics 6006 amp or is it to much?

How old are you? What size is the Type S sub? What is the impedance of the voice coil(s) of the woofer? How much power is the amp rated at?

must be a young gun. You can run a tweeter on that amp...just depends on your settings

haha anyway....the sub is a 12 with 2 ohm voice coils..amp is rated at 14.4 600 rms bridged or 150x2 rms...any idea on how much the gain should b turned up...quarter inch less than half way?

Tune by voltage before clipping.

the amp's gain is set relative to the HU's pre-amp voltage, but with a 300w sub you would definitely want to be conservative with the gain.

once you get it all wired, set the amp's filter switch to LP/BP, set the hi pass dial to ~20, the low pass dial to ~80 and the level to 6v. Put in a cd that represents the typical style of bass you listen to and increase the gain until the sub starts to sound muddy - then back it off slightly. That should give you a pretty good base line gain position. You can reduce it, but don't go up much from that point.

If you use the bass EQ, don't use much.

is 6v all the way down? I listen to a lot of rap an some hits pretty low and hard should i set the gain on one of these songs
