I am building a ported box for a 2000 lincoln ls. I am not excactly sure what size to make the port. i am wanting to use a slot type port. In the manual it calls to be tuned to 33hz. my measurements of the box are front height 14" .rear height 10", width 20", and depth 17.5". in the calculator that comes to 1.79 ft^3. on the manual it calls for 1.7ft^3 gross internal volume. I believe this is a 2007 model sub. this is the first box i have built. completely new to the game. If anyone has ported slot dimension ideas, and suggestions on the placement they will be greatly appreciated.  Also my amp is a hifonics 1200 watt 1 channel amp(bxi1206d). {/TD}{/TR}{TR UNABLE="on" hb_tag="1"}{TD style="FONT-SIZE: 1pt" height=1 UNABLE="on"}{DIV id=hotbar_promo}{/DIV}{/TD}{/TR}{/T}{/TABLE}

I've had great results with between 2.0-3.0 cu ft for the Type R's. Seems like they like bigger enclosures...I've had one in a 1.5 cu ft and it was alright.
What kind of bass output are you aiming for??
