what kind of amp am i going to need?

Any decent quality (translation: NOT Audiobahn) four channel amplifier rated 50 to 75 watts per channel RMS will fit the bill. The Eclipse and Alpine amps are favorites of the crowd here. (I have two of the 4.150 amps in my system.) The Alpine will be a bit more power than you are REALLY looking for, but judicious tuning and gain settings will allow you to run 4X100 safely, as well. By the way... Dump the EQ. Period.It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

1: Source of noise. 2: Source of distortion. 3: When you boost a given frequency band, where do you think that power will come from? This power must come from the amp, placing you dangerously close to a clipping situation, and running you into the risk of damaging your speakers sooner. (Yes, tone controls are the same thing...) EQs are bad things, generally speaking. Do you suggest that everything gets played without any EQ settings at all? Just flat? My Pioneer HU has a build in EQ, I usually just use the built in setting "Powerful" and turn down the bass a little, I like how that sounds. Isnt the puprose of an EQ to customize the sound of the music to the listeners preference?
