I have put in quite a few systems before, however this will be my first with a factory head unit and high level inputs. The vehicle is a 99 Hyundai Sonata GLS. I'm pretty sure it has a factory amp, so can I just tap into the each of the rear deck speakers and plug into the high level inputs? The amp I will be using is a rockford 201s 200 watts rms at 4 ohms. The sub will be either a 10" or 12" JL.

Now the only other question I have is what could I use for the turn on lead? I checked the wiring guides on here and found a 12 volt switched wire behind the HU. Would this be ok? That would mean the amp is on when the key is switched correct?

Last one, I do not have the plug that came with the amp for the high level inputs; so, can i just use a isulated "boot" type connector for each one of the inputs (4 total) and run the wires to those "clip on to the wire" type connectors on the speaker wires? Thanks so much for the help guys!!

I would get a line out convertor with a voltage switcher, something like PAC's Trunk-LOC. It will switch on the amp when it senses voltage on the speaker wire. No need to even pull out the radio. Then you can use RCAs and not worry about the high level inputs.

Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.
