I just purchased Alpines Type S speakers for my 2001 honda prelude and i know that i bought the correct size but when i took out one of the front speakers i noticed that the car came with an adapter but the speakers did not. If anyone knows what i am talking about could you please help.

will they fit into the stock adapter? if so, use it. if not, then you can try to just screw them into the door directly or make an adapter out of some half inch wood.

Sorry for not being clear. but the speakers fit fine it is the wiring that has an adapter in the door but the speaker does not.

well you can buy speaker adapters for your car at a local shop or if you look at the terminals of the stock speaker there might + and - markings. find out which factory wire corresponds to which polarity and wire your new speakers the same way. I would solder and tape so i wouldnt have to cut the factory plug off but i guess you will be using butt connectors have at it
