I am trying to come up with some measurements to house my 12" Kicker CVX. I want to build a ported enclosure but when it comes to port specs I am lost. I don't know how big to build the port or how deep inside the box the port should go. How do I come up with measements for a port size?

If anyone has a Kicker CVX and could you please give me some input from peronal setups.

Ok I went to Kicker.com and found some specs and this is what I came up with. Please give some feedback. Again it is for a 12" Kicker CVX.

Yea anything with a relatively low height will fit and this deff will. What about the tuned frequency I don't know much about that but I listen to mostly rap and want deep clean bass, is 40Hz going to do that for me?

GAH! Perfect for rap. I'd never tune that high, but those woofers are apparently designed to blast your eardrums, not go deep.
That being said, you and I will VERY likely have very different definitions of "deep bass". First of all, rap has very little truly deep bass, if that helps you see where I am coming from.
Make sure you apply a subsonic filter at around 35 to 38Hz, or you'll beat 'em on the stops!
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Yea I know what you mean. Originally I put one together on this website using different dimensions that was tuned to 33hz. The main difference was the total port length was almost 30" and that seemed like a lot. Also the port was 2.5" wide. From reading up on kickers manual it sounds like I would want a 3" width with a 20.5" length but the tune shoots up to 40hz. Is there a happy medium that you think I would like better?
