i have an 02 suburban non-bose. do i need to install a OS-2 module? of course i cant use my onstar (not compatible to the new dgitial). i have installed a kenwood KVT-512 with GPS module, and did install the OS2, but is it absolutely necessary? if not can someone help with a wiring diagram? i have read that there is a pink wire on the 9pin connector, this is the amp turn-on???? right? if i dont use the os2, will i be abe to have my chimes? thanks for all the help and advise in advance.

You will lose your chimes if you do it without the OS-2.

Yes the pink wire is the amp turn on wire.

correct on the pink wire, but an '02 won't lose the chime. that's just '03 and newer

i did think of another question, is there a way to still retain the factory tape player wiring everything direct? i dont use it, but the minute i dont have it, ill wish i did......lol
