I have an older alpine CDA 7930 I am trying to hook up to an iPod I have added Alpine KCA-121B but the tuner won't give me the source for either changer or auxilary I have read through the manual for the CDA 7832 (should be the same since it is the same but with internal amplifier) Does anyone have any insights they would be willing to share? thanks in advance

I do not think that deck supports Aux input via the KCA-121B.  You have to enable Aux in via the function menu.

I can't seem to find a way to turn on the aux funnction, does Alpine have a tech support where you can ask questions, unfortunately the deck is so old it is tough to get information on it.

Alpine does have a dealer support line, I called them 3 times today, each time they said it would be a 15 minute wait.  I will try to remember to call tomorrow too.  I am about 99% sure that your radio does not support the AUX in via the 121B.

Thank you, I apprecite it. I had my alpine certification back on the late 90's but got out of the 12 volt industry in 99 to work at a desk job I wish I had kept my stuff from back then

Well the answer to this question is you need to turn the mute function off and ground the pink black interrupt wire to make it work,
To turn off mute press and hold the power button for three seconds then press the preset button 2 to turn the mute off. I plan on wiring up a toggle switch for grounding the wire when I want to listen Hope this helps someone else in the future
